In Black Cascades, I sought to create a tone poem involving the supernatural, ominous nature of water at night. The piece begins as a calm stream very subtly flowing through a forest in the early morning hours. The stream's current gradually picks up until the water hurls down rocky cliffs ferociously and demonically, only to calm down once again.
